This homemade fruit dip only has five simple ingredients: strawberry cream cheese, cool whip, marshmallow creme, lemon juice, and fresh lemon zest.
It also makes the perfect party dessert dip recipe. It’s always so nice to have a lighter, healthier version on the table instead of muffins or cookies.
How to Make Strawberry Dip
This is the easiest homemade fruit dip recipe ever—I promise you. To make it, you just need a few simple ingredients:
- 8 oz strawberry cream cheese softened
- 7 oz of marshmallow creme
- 1 cup of softened cool whip
- 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice
- zest of 1 lemon
To make, add the softened cream cheese to bowl and whip with an electric mixer until it’s nice and fluffy. Then mix in your marshmallow cream—you can do this by hand or with the mixer on low.
Combine well, then gently fold in the softened cool whip and lemon juice. Add your lemon zest to the top, then mix well. Stick it in the fridge to chill and you’re done.
What to Serve with Homemade Fruit Dip?
The beauty of this dip is that it goes great with pretty much any fruit you can think of. I’ve tried it with nearly every kind and never not liked it. It also tastes great with crackers and pretzels. A few of my favorites to serve with it include:
- red apples
- green apples
- bananas
- grapes
- strawberries
- pineapple
- graham crackers
- pretzels
- cinnamon chips
What Other Flavors Could I Try?
If you aren’t a huge fan of strawberry, you can still make this recipe. There are all kinds of fun cream cheese flavors out there, and you could try subbing out the strawberry cream cheese for blueberry or raspberry. You could also just use plain cream cheese like I do in my easy fruit dip and add a drizzle of honey if you prefer.
Storage and Make-Ahead Tips
Once you make the recipe, store it in an airtight container in the fridge. It will last about 3-4 days. It also tastes great when made ahead of time. I personally think it tastes best after the flavors have had a chance to mix up and chill for a few hours.
