Fudgy Oreo Brownies
If you know me, you know I love to doctor up a box of brownie mix and make fun brownie variations or even brownie mix cookies. This Oreo brownie version is a favorite, as well as chocolate mint brownies, peanut butter brownies and cheesecake brownies.
These delicious Oreo brownies are so good and since they use a box mix like my chocolate fudge caramel brownies, they are so EASY to make. These brownies with Oreos are rich and chewy with a moist crumbs! Any dessert with chocolate and Oreos is a winner in my book.
Recipe Ingredients
For this Oreo brownie recipe, I used Ghiradelli brownie mix – my absolute favorite! I went big time with DOUBLE chocolate! Mmm…so good! You could of course use your favorite homemade brownies, too. Easy and delicious!

- Brownie mix: This recipe calls for 2 boxes of your favorite mix, as well as the ingredients needed to make the brownies (typically vegetable or canola oil and large eggs).
- Oreos: The star of the show. The cookies give the brownies an added bit of chocolate and creamy goodness.
Variations
- Mix in 1/2 cup chocolate chips to batter if not already included in brownie mix.
- Add white chocolate chips, mint chocolate chips, toffee chips or peanut butter chips to the brownies with Oreos recipe.
- Pick a fun brownie mix, like milk chocolate or dark chocolate.
- Sprinkle a little salt on top to enhance the chocolate flavor.
- Mix up the type of Oreo cookies you use. I love the mint version in these Oreo brownies.
How to Make Oreo Brownies
This is about as easy at it gets, folks. Simply stir, bake, and sit back and enjoy a chocolate lover’s dream dessert.
- Preheat oven. Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with foil and spray with nonstick spray.
- Mix together batter. In a large bowl, make brownies according to package directions.
- Assemble brownies. Pour half of the batter into the baking dish. Line Oreo’s on top of the brownie batter. Then evenly pour remaining batter on top.
- Bake. Bake Oreo brownies for 35 to 45 minutes, or until tooth pick comes out clean. Let cool, then enjoy with a large glass of cold milk! ;)
Baking Tips
- Line your baking dish with foil or parchment paper for easy clean up and removal.
- Feel free to use a homemade brownie recipe if preferred.
- Use a plastic knife to easily cut the Oreo brownies once cooled.
- For even more chocolate flavor, try adding a layer of chocolate ganache on top (similar to my peanut butter brownies).

I made these last night & took them to work today. EVERYBODY raved about them. These are going to be my new signature brownies – lol!

The whole pan was empty by 1 p.m.
Recipe FAQs
The fudgier the brownie, the more fat to flour ratio it will have. Meanwhile, cakey brownies will use more flour than fat. For instance, adding an extra egg can make brownies fudgier but adding too many will lead to a rubbery texture.
Absolutely! Simply use 1 box brownie mix and half box Oreo’s and make in a small 8×8-inch baking dish.
Storing
The Oreo brownies will keep in an airtight container at room temperature up to 5 days.

Everyone loved them and were excited about the Oreo in the middle! Mine did seem to bake longer maybe 50 minutes…Before toothpick came out not wet.
Does it call for 1 or 2 boxes of brownie mix?
Hi Linda! Two, 18 oz, boxes of brownie mix.
Delicious!
I made these last night & took them to work today. EVERYBODY raved about them. These are going to be my new signature brownies – lol! The whole pan was empty by 1pm. Our security guard said, “I ain’t never had no brownie like that!”, and one of our consultants said, “That is literally the best brownie I’ve ever had!” I poured the 2nd half of the brownie mixture on top of the Oreos, sprinkled about 1/3 cup of choc chips on top of that, and then squeezed the packets from the mix on top & baked. Absolutely amazing! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
This comment just made my day, thank you so much for sharing! I’m so happy to hear that everyone loved them so much!! :)
I made these for July 4. There were lots of teenagers at the party, and other desserts. The only reason these brownies didn’t disappear in the first 30 minutes is the adults hid the rest! They were gone and raved about at the end of the evening. My son, who doesn’t care for sweets, ate three!
Grandsons have already told me they expect these on a regular basis.
This makes me so happy to hear Lin! Thanks so much for sharing :) Yay for them being a hit at your party!
OMG These are the best things i’ve ever tasted! everyone should make this! when ur bored this is the thing to make!
So glad the brownies were a hit! We love them too :)
Great recipe! Thanks for sharing. I added walnuts to the brownie batter. I also used coconut oil instead instead of vegetable oil and coffee in place of water for the box brownie mix. This was a hit!
Yum! I am going to a luncheon for our vets today and made these for dessert. I cut when still warm to sample. They were SOOOO AWFUL! ( awfully delish-lol!) I handed up putting in freezer a bit…
I have a brownie biz and will be adding to my repertoire….
I added Belgian chocolate pieces and white chocolate.
So glad I found this recipe!
Thank you!
Sounds great! So glad you enjoyed the oreo brownies!
It really doesn’t get any better than Oreo brownies. These are perfectly decadent and delicious!
Oh my gosh, these are amazing! My daughter loves Oreo cookies, and she’s asked for another batch already. Yum!
These OREO brownies are so good! Love anything with OREOS!
Yea
Is it possible to just make a small 8×8 pan with one box of brownies? (Eating leftover Oreos wouldn’t be a problem either)
Definitely! :)
Yummy sounding brownies!! For anyone using a glass pan, I recommend following the box recommendation of 350 and not 325. Mine have been in the oven at 325 for over an hour and still aren’t done…
Sorry they have taken so long to cook. Every oven is so different! Hope you enjoyed these! :)
They were worth the wait, turned out delicious! I just really think it was due to the glass pan. Thanks for the recipe!
Oh I’m so glad to hear that! You can’t go wrong with Oreos and Brownies! :)
I’m making them now and mine have been in for an hour and still not done…
These sound amazing. I’m wondering could you make these into brookies by adding a layer of cookie dough on top? Would that not bake do you think?
That sounds yummy! Here’s my brookie recipe as well: https://www.iheartnaptime.net/brookies/
My seven year old has been begging me to bake some Oreo brownies. These were delicious!
Sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing!
