Homemade Snickers Bars
You guys are in for a real treat today! I’m sharing the most delicious recipe for homemade snickers bars! This recipe is simply AMAZING! I’m not going to tell you how many I ate. ;)
When it comes to no-bake desserts, these bad boys have now passed up my favorite Reese’s peanut butter bars. Homemade snickers combine my two favorite food groups – caramel candy and chocolate! Add a delicious nougat filling which combines butter, sugar, marshmallow fluff AND peanut butter and it’s irresistible.

How to Make Snickers
The best part about this snickers bar recipe is they are super easy to make. It takes a little bit of patience waiting for the layers to harden, but it’s worth the wait!
- Make the chocolate layer. Melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter in a microwavable bowl on 50% power. Cook for 1 minute and then stir. Continue cooking in 30 second increments until melted. Then pour the chocolate into a foil-lined (and sprayed) 9×13″ pan and spread out evenly. Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to harden.
- Combine nougat filling. Melt butter in a medium-sized pan over medium-heat. Add sugar and milk and stir until dissolved. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Add in marshmallow fluff, peanut butter and vanilla and stir until smooth. Remove pan from heat and fold in peanuts and then spread the nougat filling on top of the chocolate layer. Cool completely.
- Make caramel layer. Cook caramel and whipping cream in a small saucepan over low heat for about 10-15 minutes (or until smooth), stirring occasionally. Pour over nougat layer and allow to cool completely.
- Final chocolate layer. Pour melted chocolate on top of caramel layer and spread out evenly. Place pan in refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours, or until ready to serve. Once they have cooled, you can literally pull the whole thing out of the pan. Slowly pull the foil off the sides and ooo and ahh at the delicious caramel. Cut into bars and enjoy!

FAQs
Yes! Unless there is a nut allergy, try a different nut butter instead of peanut butter and used walnuts or another nut of choiced instead of the peanuts. For nut-free try sunflower butter and some crushed pretzels. It will taste different than Snickers but still be delicious.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Yes! I like to cut into squares then wrap in plastic wrap and store in a freezer safe container. Thaw in the refrigerator and enjoy.
Homemade Snickers Bars are the best! Your fabulous recipe did not disappoint. It was so darn awesome! Next time around I’ll be tripling this yummy recipe.
I’m so glad you enjoyed them! They are always a hit around here!
These are a dessert that will win over literally anyone at a potluck or party. So good!!
I have made these several times over the last few years. My teenaged son doesn’t like Snickers, but LOVES THESE!!!! I delivered some to the front office ladies at my daughter’s elementary school and received an email about how I had “grown women swooning” over how delicious they are. If you aren’t sure about this recipe, I PROMISE you need to try it – you will NOT be disappointed!!!!!!! As my 4 yo says, “They are fantastic!!!”
I’m so glad these have been a hit for you! Even though they take a little longer than most treats, they are one of our favorites! Thanks for your comment and review Lisa. :)
Tried to sign up for web site but would not let me
Hi Sharon! Did you fill out your name and email in the subscribe box? It sometimes takes a while for a confirmation email to come to you. If you are still having problems, send me an email at community@iheartnaptime.net. Thanks!
This recipe is simply AMAZING!
Will try these soon. Sounds great
Going to make these for my husband’s birthday. So is it heavy whipping cream or whipped cream like cool whip??
Heavy cream, but not whipped. :)
I’m usually not a huge fan of overwhelming peanut butter in
desserts. I know snickers bars have peanuts in them but I didn’t
think it had actual Peanut butter. What do you think th outcome
would be if I omitted the peanut butter?
If you omitted the peanut butter all together, it may not hold its shape as well. Otherwise, it should still be delicious! :)
I think I’d like to try and make them and layer ingredients in paper cupcake liners using cupcake baking pans instead of making in one large pan and then cutting them into squares. I make coconut chocolate balls and use small candy liners and they turn out perfectly and look so professional.
I bet they will turn out lovely!
I have a nut allergy so I made these with SunButter sunflower butter — and I subbed sunflower seeds for the chopped peanuts — they turned out DELICIOUS! Cut them into roughly 2×1-inch bars and got four dozen “snickers” out of this recipe.
Your bars look So-o-o good I can’t wait to try them! I also will try your wonderful suggestions for Mason jars . Love your site !
They are amazing! Hope you enjoy them Susan! :)
These look AWESOME!. We dont have “marshmellow fluff” in South Africa, any idea on a good substitute? I really want to make them.
Thanks B
Hi Bianca! I have not used a substitute but found this substitute for marshmallow fluff on another website: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf27030552.tip.html.
Quick question…can i use the semi sweet chocolate chips?
Yes definitely! Both will work great! :)
I like those snicker recipes I would like more heathly foods that dose not have no saturated fat in it sat fat 0 grams of saturated fat less calories more protein thanks and I can post them on my Facebook page to my friends and special olympics mn
These sound delicious and will definitely try. Thanks
Hi! These look amazing!! I was wondering if you whip the cream before cooking it in a sauce pan with the caramel?? The recipie list says “whipping cream” but the instructions say whipped… so I just wanted to make sure!!
Hi Camila! You don’t need to whip the cream before mixing it with the caramel, just put it in as is. :)
Has anyone used Sunflower butter… we can’t use peanut and I love snickers.
On the recipe layer 3 how much caramels? 114 oz? that´s 3 kilos for me. I hope you can answer soon. I want to do the snickers soon! Thank you very much. Paula
It is 14 oz not 114 oz of caramels! :)
