Homemade Snickers Bars
You guys are in for a real treat today! I’m sharing the most delicious recipe for homemade snickers bars! This recipe is simply AMAZING! I’m not going to tell you how many I ate. ;)
When it comes to no-bake desserts, these bad boys have now passed up my favorite Reese’s peanut butter bars. Homemade snickers combine my two favorite food groups – caramel candy and chocolate! Add a delicious nougat filling which combines butter, sugar, marshmallow fluff AND peanut butter and it’s irresistible.

How to Make Snickers
The best part about this snickers bar recipe is they are super easy to make. It takes a little bit of patience waiting for the layers to harden, but it’s worth the wait!
- Make the chocolate layer. Melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter in a microwavable bowl on 50% power. Cook for 1 minute and then stir. Continue cooking in 30 second increments until melted. Then pour the chocolate into a foil-lined (and sprayed) 9×13″ pan and spread out evenly. Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to harden.
- Combine nougat filling. Melt butter in a medium-sized pan over medium-heat. Add sugar and milk and stir until dissolved. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Add in marshmallow fluff, peanut butter and vanilla and stir until smooth. Remove pan from heat and fold in peanuts and then spread the nougat filling on top of the chocolate layer. Cool completely.
- Make caramel layer. Cook caramel and whipping cream in a small saucepan over low heat for about 10-15 minutes (or until smooth), stirring occasionally. Pour over nougat layer and allow to cool completely.
- Final chocolate layer. Pour melted chocolate on top of caramel layer and spread out evenly. Place pan in refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours, or until ready to serve. Once they have cooled, you can literally pull the whole thing out of the pan. Slowly pull the foil off the sides and ooo and ahh at the delicious caramel. Cut into bars and enjoy!
Gifting Tips
- During the holiday season I love to gift neighbors with these delicious homemade snickers bars, this Cool Whip candy recipe and copycat PayDay candy bars.
- I wrap them up in wax paper and stamp a cute message on the top (I used these stamps). You could even place them in a cute little basket and wrap it up with ribbon.
- Simply store them in the refrigerator until you’re ready to pass them out. Your friends will take one bite and love you forever!

FAQs
Yes! Unless there is a nut allergy, try a different nut butter instead of peanut butter and used walnuts or another nut of choiced instead of the peanuts. For nut-free try sunflower butter and some crushed pretzels. It will taste different than Snickers but still be delicious.
Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Yes! I like to cut into squares then wrap in plastic wrap and store in a freezer safe container. Thaw in the refrigerator and enjoy.

Thanks Anne! :)
Are you kidding me right now? These look amazing. Pinned. Thank you!!!
They are amazing as they look! :)
Whoa! the snickers look yummy and definitely hardcore. It will definitely take a lot of restraint to not eat too many.
They are super rich and delicious, hope you enjoy them! :)
I made these today – delicious! I think (and my husband does too) these are even better than snickers. I used 3T heavy cream instead of 4 (1/4 cup) for the Carmel and it is solid enough to sit out, but still creamy. Have you tried putting a layer of tempered chocolate over the final cut bar? I think it would keep the chocolate from melting on your fingers as you eat them, but then again I really ate them too fast for that to matter this time…
Thanks for a great recipe!
I’m glad you liked them…these snickers bars are seriously my weakness! I’ve never tried using a layer of tempered chocolate, that is a great idea though! Thanks for your comment Maggie! :)
I’m glad you liked the snickers!! I’ve never tried putting a layer of tempered chocolate over the bar, but I think that it would work good! :)

Yes, just take them out to thaw before serving them! :)
Can’t wait to make these!! Tell me something, is marshmallow fluff and marshmallow cream interchangeable?? I have the cream but can’t find the fluff!! Thanks for all you do!
I’ve never seen the marshmallow fluff but I assume they are the same thing! I’m sure it would turn out great with both! :)
So your recipe says ‘fluff’ but you use the cream?? Sorry, sometimes I’m a goof on these types of things. Thanks for your response!
I can’t even look! Seriously…these look THAT dangerous to me!
