4-Ingredient Cream Cheese Crepe Filling
This is not only a favorite to pair with classic crepes or strawberry crepes for brunch but could be served alongside some fresh berries or with a slice of your favorite cake with strawberry sauce.
This easy crepe filling adds the perfect flavor to my favorite crepe recipe. It tastes like no-bake cheesecake, but with a creamier texture. With only 4 ingredients and less than 5 minutes to whip up, this will become your new go-to sweet crepe filling recipe!
Ingredient Notes
This crepe filling recipe is easy to make with a few simple ingredients!
Find the full printable recipe with specific measurements below.
- Cream cheese: You’ll need 1 box of room temperature softened cream cheese. Regular cream cheese yields the best thick and creamy filling, but you can use light or low fat cream cheese.
- Sugar: Both granulated sugar and powdered sugar will work, although I prefer powdered sugar as it dissolves more easily into the cream cheese.
- Vanilla: You only need a small amount to add a sweet flavor. Simply add in 1 teaspoon and be sure it’s real vanilla extract not imitation.
- Whipped cream: I love the lighter consistency this adds. I often make my own whipped cream with heavy cream, but store-bought whipped cream like Cool Whip will work, too.
How to Make Crepe Filling
This recipe couldn’t be easier! It takes just 5 minutes and all that’s required is mixing the ingredients together.
- Beat ingredients together. Beat the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Mix in whipped cream. Then mix in the whipping cream. Mix just until smooth.
- Add filling to crepes and enjoy! Spread cream cheese mixture on top of cooked crepes and add any other sweet fillings or desired toppings.
TIP: For a richer variation of this sweet treat, use brown sugar instead of regular and add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Ways to Use Cream Cheese Filling For Crepes
We love serving this cream cheese filling with my famous crepe recipe and fresh berries, although it would be great in blintzes, too! Here are some more crepes to fill with it!
Favorite crepe filling ideas and toppings:
- Fresh fruit filling: I love a strawberry cream filling, but raspberries, blackberries, blueberries or sliced bananas are all great additions to the cream cheese crepe filling. I love to add them both to the filling and on top of the crepes.
- Sauces: Add a drizzle of strawberry sauce, blueberry sauce or chocolate sauce on top of the filling before folding then more on top.
- Powdered sugar and lemon juice: A little lemon juice could be added to the filling for a citrus taste and sifting powdered sugar on top of the crepe looks so elegant.
- Spread: Skip the cream cheese filling and smear the inside of the crepe with Nutella or peanut butter.
- Whipped cream: A dollop on top of a crepe with a scoop of ice cream makes it an instant dessert.
Storing Leftover Crepe Filling
Leftovers of this cream cheese crepe filling recipe can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week. I like to let it soften to room temperature before using it in crepes.
You can also make ahead crepes with the cream cheese filling and fold edges toward center to make a square. Store filled crepes for up to 3 days in the refrigerator in a covered container. Reheat in a skillet with butter.
A few other strawberry and cream recipes I love include strawberry shortcake biscuits, strawberry cream pie and strawberry cheesecake mousse.

Delicious! Could I use cool whip for the whipped cream?
Sure!
I have made this in the past and love it. My question is that if I make it today will it still be fluffy tomorrow?
Yes, it may fall a little but you can always rewhip if you want it fluffier. It will stay good in the fridge for about 3 days.
I made this as part of my Easter brunch buffet and it was a big hit! It will definitely at my Easter brunch every year.
Love it! So glad it was a hit with the crowd :)

So glad you enjoyed the recipe :)
Great recipe, I did use my mixer so the filling wasn’t as fluffy as shown in the picture, but still good. Very tasty!
I’m glad you enjoyed it, Mechelle :)
Can u freeze them after they are made
Yes, these will freeze well. I typically like to put a piece of parchment paper in between, but it’s not an issue if you don’t. Just peel them away carefully.
:D
great recipe!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it :)
Loved it. Even made the whipped cream and the strawberry sauce. A lot of dishes but worth it
Love it! I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed the recipe, Pat :)
Curious what you mean by store bought whipping cream. The liquid version or the spray can version? Thanks!
Yes you can use the kind in the can or make your own with heavy cream following this recipe: https://www.iheartnaptime.net/simple-homemade-whipped-cream/
Family loved the recipe and so easy to make! Recipe is a keeper!!
Yay! So happy to hear it was a hit with your family :)
Perfect! Just like what I used to get in crepes at a local restaurant.
I’m so glad you liked it, Nicole! Thanks for your comment and review :)
Loe this crepe filling! Can you make filling ahead of time?
Hi Suzette – you can make the filling about a day in advance if you’d like. I wouldn’t store it for any longer because the whipped cream will probably deflate and change the texture.
Yummm !
This was absolutely amazing! The cream cheese filling is what made it so good!
Definitely recommend!
So glad you liked it! The cream cheese filling is my favorite too :)
Very simple recipe and very delicious. We used strawberries and wife and I loved it. Would highly recommend it.
I’m so glad to hear you and your wife enjoyed them!
My family loved it! Definite keeper
I’m so glad to hear it was a hit!
Love this recipe! I had tried another one that called for powdered sugar but it didn’t turn out as well as this one with granulated sugar. It seems to dissolve better than powdered sugar.
