How to Make Chili’s Salsa Recipe

Ingredients for this copycat Chili’s salsa recipe are simple and easy to find.

  • Diced tomatoes
  • Rotel (original diced tomatoes with green chilies)
  • Diced jalapeno peppers
  • Onion
  • Garlic powder, sugar, salt and cumin
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Lime juice

Add all copycat salsa ingredients to a blender or food processor. Process for 20 seconds but don’t puree, pour into a large container, cover and chill for at least one hour. Serve.

Recipe Tips

  • If you love salsa with some heat and spice, leave the seeds in your jalapeno peppers.
  • Chili’s salsa is best chilled for a few hours or overnight but you can serve it right away.
  • Served traditionally with chips and salsa, you can also use it with crockpot salsa chicken, add to taco salad or spoon over fish.
  • While a batch of homemade salsa is best fresh, it can be stored in the fridge in a mason jar or covered container for up to a week.

This copycat Chili's salsa recipe is just like the restaurant favorite! It's easy to make this appetizer at home, just blend, chill and enjoy with tortilla chips.

Ingredients 

  • 14.5 ounces petite diced tomatoes (one can)
  • 10 ounces Ro*Tel diced tomatoes and green chiles (one can)
  • 2 teaspoons diced jalapeno peppers (If you like spicy salsa, leave the seeds)
  • ½ small yellow onion , sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro , or 1 tsp dried cilantro
  • 1 Tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients: Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor. Process for 20 seconds or until it's the texture you desire.
  • Pour and chill: Pour salsa into a quart sized jar or bowl, cover, and place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Storage: Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
