This easy buffalo chicken dip recipe is so simple to make with only 5 ingredients. It’s creamy, cheesy and perfect for any game day party or holiday gathering!
When it comes to crowd pleasing appetizers, this easy buffalo chicken dip is always at the top of the list. Add it to your next Superbowl game day spread with some oven baked Buffalo chicken wings and it will be a huge hit!
It has the flavor of buffalo baked chicken wings, but in dip form. And if you know me, you know I love ALL the dips including jalapeno dip, baked spinach artichoke dip and queso dip with chorizo.
5 Ingredient Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip
Find the full printable recipe with specific measurements below.
- Hot sauce: I prefer Frank’s RedHot buffalo wing sauce. You can also make homemade buffalo sauce.
- Ranch dressing: Use store bought, homemade ranch dressing or you can also substitute blue cheese dressing
- Cream cheese: Two packages make the dip extra creamy. Low fat cream cheese or Greek yogurt can be substituted but will make your dip more watery.
- Cheese: I love to use a mix of shredded mozzarella, monterey jack cheese or cheddar cheese, but you can use all of one or what you have on hand.
- Shredded chicken: I like to use rotisserie for convenience (canned chicken works also). You can also cook your chicken breasts to make shredded chicken.
How to Make Easy Buffalo Chicken Dip
I prefer to make this easy buffalo chicken dip in the slow cooker, but you can make baked buffalo chicken dip or even use the Instant Pot.
- Shred. Shred cooked chicken. I love to use rotisserie chicken for ease and convenience.
- Combine. Add cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, ranch dressing and Franks RedHot Buffalo wing sauce into the crockpot.
- Cook. Set to low and cook for 1 hour, or until bubbly.
- Add. Sprinkle more cheese to the top before serving and broil for a few minutes if desired. Feel free to add sliced green onions on top.
More Cooking Options
- Oven instructions: While a crock pot buffalo chicken dip is my preference, you can bake it in the ove, too. Follow the steps in my baked buffalo chicken dip.
- Instant Pot: If you’re not a fan of the oven or slow cooker, try making this easy Instant Pot buffalo chicken dip that’s equally just as delicious!
- Microwave: While this is my least favorite, it can be done! Combine all ingredients in a microwave safe dish, cover to prevent splatter and heat until warmed through. I like to stir it between intervals.
Serving Suggestions
There are so many ways to use buffalo chicken dip! Here are my favorite dippers to dip into it and a few unique ways to use leftovers.
- Vegetables: Celery sticks, sliced carrots and bell peppers.
- Chips and crackers: Including Frito Scoops, tortilla chips or an assortment of crackers.
- Bread: I have used pita bread or naan slices but a favorite is toasted French baguette slices.
- Leftovers: Add it to a buffalo chicken pizza or make a buffalo chicken sweet potato.
Storage
- Store leftover buffalo chicken dip in the fridge for about 3-5 days in an airtight container.
- To reheat, place in a microwave safe dish and microwave on high in 30 second increments. You can also reheat in the oven until warm as well. I’ll sometimes add some extra cheese if I’m reheating in the oven.
