Why I Love This Cold BLT Dip Recipe

  • Flavorful combination: If you love a classic BLT, this BLT dip recipe has the same flavors in a rich and creamy cold party dip that’s the perfect appetizer with crostini.
  • Easy to make: Simple ingredients make up the flavor-filled base and then it’s topped with bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. No baking and ready in 10 minutes!

Ingredient Notes

Cream cheese, sour cream, bacon, ranch seasoning, tomato, green onion.

Find the full printable recipe with specific measurements below.

  • Cream cheese: Full fat brick style cream cheese that is softened to room temperature.
  • Sour cream: A classic BLT sandwich contains mayonnaise but using all mayo is a bit too tangy for my taste. I love to use a combination of 1/2 sour cream and 1/2 mayo.
  • Seasoning: Dry ranch seasoning and garlic powder add bold flavor to the cold dip.
  • Bacon: I prefer to cook bacon in the oven but on the stovetop, in the microwave or air fryer are all great options, too.
  • Lettuce: This is optional but gives it that traditional BLT feel. Use shredded iceberg lettuce or romaine lettuce.
  • Roma tomatoes: I prefer sturdy, firm roma tomatoes, but heirlooms, grape tomatoes or cherry tomatoes would work.
  • Green onions (optional): I love how mild green onions add fresh flavor.
  • Dippers: When serving this recipe for BLT dip, I love to serve it with crostini to give it a real sandwich feel, but pretzels, crackers or even slices of sourdough bread work.

Tips and Variations

  • Sour cream substitute: Mayo can be used instead or in combination with the sour cream. Plain Greek yogurt is a lighter option that tastes great.
  • Chill for a few hours: If you have time before serving, make this dip up to 24 hours ahead of time and refrigerator to let the flavors develop. Top and serve when ready!
  • Add some cheese: Take a note from everyone’s favorite bacon cheddar ranch dip and add some cheddar cheese. It’s not a classic ingredient for a BLT but delicious.
  • What to serve with BLT dip: Potato chips, tortilla chips or pita chips are a favorite, as well as bagel chips and toasted crostini. Sliced vegetables like carrots, bell peppers and celery sticks are great, too.

Storage

Store leftovers of this recipe for BLT dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to a week. I like to store it without the lettuce and tomato toppings as they tend to get watery and brown.
