I have ordered the TrueLemon and bought the cereal, so I am eager to try these!
I have a question for you. I love my lemon on the intense side. I find the Krusteaze Lemon bars about right for sweet vs tart and amount of lemon flavor. How does your recipe compare? And would it be better to add more zest or more TrueLemon if I want to up the lemon flavor? I did see one commenter added crushed Lemonhead candy, but my local stores didn’t have any.
Hi Elisa! I love lemon as well :) I prefer lemon zest for to bring out a more fresh lemon flavor. Happy baking!
This has been the best recipe I have found to make the lemon flavor chow with. Don’t listen to the others when they tell you to add lemon juice!!! It will seize your chocolate! Believe me.. lol. I didn’t have any zest.. so I added extra of the true powder…
P.s…. Sometimes you can find true lemon powder at restaurants….just “borrow” a few packs and put them away for later like I did..lol.
Hi Jamielyn,
I want to make this recipe but have a bottle of lemon powder. Would you please tell me how much powder is in a packet?
Many thanks.
Based on their website, it looks like each packet is about 1/4 tsp!
What is true lemon powder? Is there a substitution for it?
I used a tablespoon of pulverized Lemon Head candies instead of lemon powder. Yummy, but next batch I’ll add an extra teaspoon of candies.
I love muddy buddies and I loved this lemon twist !! So yummy and super easy to make!
These are unbelievably addicting. I thank you and curse you all at the same time! LOL
What is “lemon powder” for the lemon muddy buddys?
Hi Colleen! It’s crystalized lemon to make lemon juice! You can find it at most stores!
i want to make this recipe but do not know what lemon powder is or whereto get it
Hi Deborah! It’s crystalized lemon to make lemon juice. You can find it at most stores!
do you mean like Kool-aid?
Hi Sherry! No, it’s called “True Lemon”. It’s a crystalized lemon that you add to water, tea, etc.
This brings back memories. It’s been decades since I last had puppy chow!I have never tried lemon and white chocolate before. I hate white chocolate because it’s too sweet for me. The only time I liked white chocolate was when it was drizzled on a macadamia nut granola bar which was heaven. The lemon might actually help balance out the overly sweet taste of white chocolate so I might try that sometime.
Hope you enjoy these! :)
Where can I get Lemon Powder? Thanks!!!
I’ve seen it at Walmart and Target!
