This peppermint bark popcorn is easy to make with white chocolate coated popcorn, crushed peppermint candy and a chocolate drizzle. It’s the perfect holiday treat!
Popcorn is the best last minute neighbor gift ideas! Other favorites include microwave caramel corn, cake batter popcorn and cookies and cream popcorn.
White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn
This chocolate peppermint bark popcorn is a new favorite holiday treat. I absolutely love peppermint bark, so this recipe marries my favorite salty white chocolate popcorn paired with layers of sweet dark chocolate and crushed peppermint. It’s magical!
This treat also makes a great gift and is so cute all packaged up. This stuff is seriously addicting, so I had to get it out of my house quick before I ate the whole batch. It is THAT good!
Recipe Ingredients
- Popped popcorn: Pre-popped, microwave or stovetop popcorn
- Candiquik coating: Or white chocolate melting wafers
- Peppermint kisses: Or Andes peppermint crunch
- Milk chocolate chips: Or melting candy. Dark chocolate would also work.
- Candy canes: Peppermint candy crushed into pieces
How to Make Peppermint Bark Popcorn
- Melt the white chocolate. Add candiquik (or white chocolate) to a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on medium for 1 minute. Stir and then heat in 30 second increments until completely melted.
- Mix white chocolate and popcorn. Place popcorn into a large bowl, then add in melted white chocolate and crushed peppermint. Make sure everything is completely coated, then pour mixture onto wax paper in an even layer on lined baking sheets.
- Melt and drizzle milk chocolate. Melt the milk chocolate using the same method as the white chocolate. Once completely melted and smooth, drizzle the milk chocolate over the popcorn. Then immediately sprinkle crushed candy canes on top.
- Let cool and break into pieces. Allow to cool completely, until the chocolate has hardened. Then break into pieces before enjoying.
Variations
This is one of our family’s holiday favorites to snack on! We sometimes even mix this Christmas popcorn snack mix up for variety.
- Add some holiday sprinkles or red and green M&Ms
- Instead of white chocolate melting wafers use green
- Add some broken pretzels for a sweet and salty flavor profile
- Mini cookies like Oreos would be delicious

This recipe came from my friend Ashton’s (from Something Swanky) book Party Popcorn.
I popped a bag of popcorn last night and offered my wife some but she declined and said she would love to have some if it had chocolate and peppermint on it though. So today I found your recipe and decided to make some, just for her! She loved it! I didn’t have any peppermint sticks but I had some peppermint puffs that I chopped up really fine and used in it. I’m glad I found your recipe, I’ll be using it again!
I’m so glad you two enjoyed it!
Popcorn and peppermint bark in one? Yes please!

Yum, I love peppermint bark and white chocolate covered popcorn. I can’t wait to try this delicious combo – sounds amazing!!
I know this is an old record, but the recipe card only lists 4 ingredients instead of 5. It does not list the peppermint (kisses/andes) though step one tells you to use it.
Sorry about that Anne! I have adjusted the recipe card to include the crushed peppermint (kisses/andes), it must have got missed during a recipe card update. Enjoy the peppermint bark popcorn!
Mmh, this looks delicious and so pretty at the same time! Happy Friday!
