Strawberry Spinach Salad

A refreshing and mouthwatering strawberry spinach salad is full of flavor and textures with juicy strawberries, almonds, soft feta, and fresh spinach greens tossed with a creamy poppy seed dressing.

I love to make salads to enjoy at lunchtime! This summer salad recipe is a favorite as well as egg salad and my easy taco salad.

This strawberry spinach salad is just so simple to make with the perfect combination! It is full of sweet, savory, and crunchy deliciousness. All you need is spinach, strawberries, feta cheese, sliced almonds and your favorite salad dressing.

Substitutions and Variations

How to Make Strawberry Spinach Salad

  • Place the spinach in a large bowl. Next add the sliced strawberries, cheese and nuts.
  • Drizzle desired dressing over top and then toss with salad tongs. Serve immediately.

Make Ahead and Storing

While an assembled and dressed salad is best served immediately, you can prep parts of this spinach and strawberry salad ahead of time.

Prepare all the ingredients including dressing and store individually in separate containers or individual jars in the refrigerator. When ready to assemble the fresh salad, simply toss the ingredients into a large serving bowl.

Ingredients 

  • 8 cups baby spinach , stems removed
  • 1 pint strawberries , sliced in half
  • ¼ cup feta cheese , blue cheese or goat cheese
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds , or pecans

Optional mix-ins: chicken, cucumbers, avocado, extra veggies

For serving: Poppy seed dressing, vinaigrette, ranch or balsamic

Instructions

  • Place the spinach in a large bowl. Next add the sliced strawberries, cheese and nuts. Add additional mix-ins if desired. 
  • Drizzle the dressing over top and then toss with salad tongs. Serve immediately.

Extra mix-ins (calories not included in count): 
  • Greens: mixed salad greens, romaine or kale
  • Veggies: bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, radishes or radicchio
  • Fruit: raspberries, blueberries or dried cranberries
  • Cheese: feta, goat or blue cheese
  • Nuts: can substitute with pecans pieces or candied pecans
  • Protein: grilled chicken or steak
  • Dressing: poppy seed dressing, vinaigrette, balsamic or ranch
